FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions)
Q: How often should I get a massage?
A: As often as several times a week, but
at least once a month. I recomend once a month for general well
being and health maintenance. Weekly or twice a week if we are working
on an injury.
Massage Therapy has an accumulative affect,
if you get a massage at least once a month your body responds better
than if you only get one once every 5 or 6 months. People who get
regular massage notice that they feel better, have less aches and
pains and less stress. They also learn to identify when they are
feeling especially stressed and can do something about it. You become
more aware of how your body feels when it is relaxed, so are more
aware of when you aren't and can take steps to correct the situation
before it gets critical.
Q: Who can get a massage?
A: Everyone can, unless your Physician recomends
you don't. There may be certian conditions that it isn't recomended,
such as acute infection, fractures, back injuries that are unstable,
This is something we can discuss over the phone when you call for
an appointment. Just a note here - massage if very good for back
problems and the only reason that I might not work on you is if
the Dr. says not to. If you have a fever or a cold, flu or contagious
skin rash I will ask that you wait till the contition improves before
seeking massage treatment.
Massage can benefit people from all walks
of life, all age groups, men, women, children, senior citizens -
all enjoy touch therapy.
Q: What will happen when I get my massage?
Will I need to take my clothes off?
A: To read what to expect go to this page.
You may be required to remove part or all of your clothes (in private), but you will remain covered
with a sheet throughout the session. I use oil during my massage
and clothing would be in the way of the massage and you also would
get oil on your clothing.
